Edfu is an archaeological site in Upper Egypt dominated by the Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved temples from the Ptolemaic period. The temple was constructed over two centuries beginning in 237 BCE under Ptolemy III and completed during the reign of Ptolemy XII.
